Church At Mount Of Olives

These tombs are old. These tombs are very old. Back in the day (and I'm talking about ancient Biblical days...way before yo' momma) the custom was to burry the dead in the ground. Their bodies would then decompose in the ground and then the bone would be collected to place in a small box to hold them for the rest of time. These boxes are pictured above and are kept at a Catholic Church on the side of the Mount of Olives. You can see some beautiful decorations etched into the sides.
